The Clear

Everything stops and that is fine.

Reality check

You think something must be wrong because you feel nothing. Or you think you need to figure out why you feel good so you can replicate it.

This is not special. This is what baseline feels like. The fact that it feels rare tells you how far from baseline you usually operate.

  • Do nothing. The Clear is rare. Do not analyze it or hold it or document it. The moment you think about it, the thinking is the thing that was absent.
  • Stay off your phone. The Clear dissolves the moment you introduce variable reward stimulation.
  • If you want to extend it: coherent breathing. 5 in, 5 out through the nose. The rhythm matches where you already are.
  • Do not analyze it. The mind reasserting control ends The Clear.
  • Do not try to save it for later. It is not a destination you can bookmark.
  • Do not immediately fill the silence with tasks.

They do not recognize it when it happens. The Clear is subtle. It is not euphoria. It is an absence of the usual chatter. Most people are so accustomed to internal noise that when the noise stops, they do not notice. Learning to recognize The Clear sooner is one of the highest leverage nervous system skills.
